Aikyashree scholarship is an initiative to encourage the education of students mainly from the minority community of West Bengal. West Bengal Chief Minister Hon’ble Shri Mamata Banerjee launched the Aikyashree Scholarship Scheme. This scheme was launched by the Chief Minister of the state in 2020 with the name “Aikyashree ” scheme. Currently, the Aikyashree scholarship 2024 application process has started for the students of the academic year 2024-25. What Is Aikyashree Scholarship 2024?

The scholarship was launched by West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee (West Bengal Minority Development and Finance Corporation). Minority communities in the state like Muslims, Christians, Buddhists, Jains, etc. Community people, students will get Aikyashree Scholarship from Govt to continue their studies. This scholarship is offered to students of various professional courses from first class to postgraduate level and above.

Various minority communities, like scheduled castes and tribes in West Bengal live below the poverty line. Due to poor family financial conditions, they cannot give their children higher education. Because of that, students leave their studies and get involved in various types of jobs. To stop these things, the Chief Minister of the state launched this scheme specially for the students. So that any talented student does not face any difficulty in carrying the education of the future. With the money received through Aikyashree Scholarship, students can spend their entire educational expenses, including hostel fees, school fees, college education fees, etc.

Object Of Aikyashree Scholarship

The main objective of this Aikyashree Scholarship scheme is to provide scholarships for educational improvement to minority students residing in West Bengal. To provide financial assistance to backward students of minority communities which will help them to pursue their education. Apart from this, women belonging to minority communities are made self-reliant by this scholarship. So that the quality of education in the state increases day by day.

Aikyashree Scholarship: Eligibility Criteria 

Aikyashree Scholarship (WBMDFC) Portal is mainly divided into 3 parts. The eligibility criteria for each are discussed below-

Pre-Matric Scholarship Eligibility Criteria

• Applicant must be a permanent resident of West Bengal.
• The applicant should belong to a Minority community.
• Should be studying in a school run by a recognized Board of Education of the State / Central Government.
• Must have at least 50% marks in the previous final examination.
• The annual Income of students’ families should be Rs 2 Lakh or less.
• Students studying in institutes outside West Bengal are not eligible for Pre-Matric Scholarship.

Post Matric Scholarship Eligibility Criteria

• Applicant must be a permanent resident of West Bengal.
• The applicant should belong to a Minority community.
• Should be studying in any recognized Education Board / Council / University / Institution of State / Central Govt.
• Applicants can apply for this scholarship from XI class (XI) to post-graduation (PG) level below.
• Must have secured at least 50% marks in the previous year’s annual examination.
• The annual family income of students should be Rs 2 Lakh or less.
• Students studying in institutes outside West Bengal are not eligible for a Post-Matric Scholarship.

Merit-cum-Means Scholarship Eligibility Criteria

• Applicant must be a permanent resident of West Bengal.
• Applicant must be admitted in Technical/Professional Course.
• Applicant must have obtained at least 50% marks in Higher Secondary / Graduation / Post Graduation examination.
• The annual family income of students should be Rs 2.5 Lakh or less.
• As per the new notification issued by the West Bengal Minority Development and Finance Corporation, students who are residents of West Bengal but studying in institutions located outside West Bengal are also eligible to apply.

Aikyashree Scholarship 2024: Application Process

Follow the simple steps below to apply for this scholarship:-

Online Registration Process:-

• First, visit the official website of WBMDFC by clicking on the following link – https://wbmdfcscholarship.org/
• Students applying for Aikyashree Scholarship for the first time click on the “STUDENT’S REGISTRATION” option.

• Now select the district in which you live,

• After selecting the district, the students have to provide all the information related to their identity such as their name, guardian’s name, Date of Birth, Aadhar Number, Mobile Number, Bank Account Number with Email ID, etc.
• Once the form is filled, click on the “Submit and Proceed” button.
• This time another new form will be open where the students have to provide information related to educational qualifications.
• Once this form is completed, click on the “Submit and Proceed” option again. This time the names of the students for this scholarship will be registered on the scholarship portal.

• At the end of the registration process, the students will be provided with a User ID and Password which will be sent to the registered Email ID or Mobile Number of the students.
• To apply for the Scholarship, visit the portal again and click on the “STUDENT’S LOGIN” option.

• Use the provided User ID and Password to Log In to the Portal.
• Here you have to provide some basic information like Academic Information, Bank Account Related Information.
• If you feel that a password change is necessary, you can change your password at this stage, otherwise, you have to click on the submit button to go to the next menu.
• Click on the “Preview Tap” button to verify the complete form once again.
• After verifying the form, click on the “Final Submit Tab” button.
• This time the application process for the Scholarship will be completed. Every student should print one copy of this application form for later use.

Aikyashree Scholarship 2024: Renewal Process

• To renew the scholarship, first, go to the Scholarship Portal. (https://wbmdfcscholarship.org/)
• Click on the “RENEWAL APPLICATION” option on the homepage.
• After that students have to select their district and provide the Application ID Number, and DOB received at the time of the first application, and fill in a Captcha Code.
• An OTP will be sent to the registered mobile number of the students, this OTP has to be submitted on the portal.
• Now click on the “login” button.
• An Application Form will come to renew Aikyashree Scholarship.
• This form should be filled out by providing the necessary information.
• After that, the documents mentioned in the Application Form should be uploaded to the Portal.
• After filling in the complete form click on the “submit” button.

Aikyashree Scholarship 2024: Status-Checking Process

• Visit the Official Website of Aikyashree Scholarship.
• Enter a specific captcha code along with your “Application ID” and “Password”.

• Open Dashboard and click on the “Track Application“ option.
• On the next page, you will see the status of your application form.

Aikyashree Scholarship Bank Account Details

Students must have a Savings Bank Account in their name to get the Scholarship. Even if the students do not have a bank account in their name, their parents or any guardian can have a bank account. Care should be taken that an Aadhar Card is linked with a Bank Account.

When is Aikyashree Scholarship 2024 paid?

Scholarships are awarded in different types of Professional Degrees from First Class to Post-graduation level and beyond. The scholarship is required to be renewed after passing the annual examination for the students studying in the school. However, the duration of this Scholarship in Higher Education Degree is long. Aikyashree Scholarship is given to students for various professional courses.

Aikyashree Scholarship: Terms and Conditions

• Students must secure at least 50% marks in the previous year’s examination to renew the scholarship.
• Students have to submit a Family Income Certificate while applying for Scholarship.
• Students must pass each annual examination or semester examination with at least 50% marks to get the scholarship consistently.
• Hostel maintenance money will also be provided through this scholarship to the students who are studying in the hostel.
