Object of Umbrella Scholarship

The main object of the Umbrella Scholarship Meghalaya is To support parents of ST children for the education of their wards studying in classes IX and X so that the incidence of drop-out, especially in the transition from the elementary to the secondary stage is minimized. To improve participation of ST children in classes IX and X of the pre-matric stage, so that they perform better and have a better chance of progressing to the post-matric stage of education.

Particulars	Rewards/ Benefits
Umbrella Pre matric	Maintenance allowance of INR 350 per month to hostellers INR 150 per month for day scholars. Book and ad-hoc allowance of INR 1000 per annum for hostellers INR 750 per annum for day scholars. INR 240 per month as an extra allowance for students with disabilities.
Umbrella Post matric	Thesis typing and printing charges of up to INR 1600 for the research scholars. Study tour charges of up to INR 1600 per annum to the selected candidates. Annual allowance of INR 1200 for Essential/ Prescribed books. Reimbursement of the course fees for the candidates pursuing correspondence courses. The scholars get a maintenance allowance of up to INR 1200 per month for hostellers Up to INR 550 per month for day scholars.

• Students Pursuing Class 9 to 10 in any Government State Central Board School are eligible.
• The applicant’s family’s annual income should be below INR 2,00,000.
• Candidates should not receive any other centrally funded scholarship.

Umbrella Post matric Scholarship 

• The student must be pursuing post-matriculation level education (Class 11 or higher).
• Candidates must have passed High Secondary from any University or Institution then they are eligible to do it.
• The applicant’s family’s annual income should be below INR 2,50,000.

• Students from class 9 to class 10 will come under Umbrella Scholarship Meghalaya.
• Students must have a bank account within the state of Meghalaya only to receive the scholarship amount.
• The amount of the scholarship may be increased and decreased by the scholarship authority from time to time
• The scholarship amount will be awarded for up to 10 months of the academic year.
• Based on good conduct and regular attendance, the scholarship will be renewed for class 10 after the candidate passes class 9.

For Post matric

• Students must study in India.
• Students must have a bank account within the state of Meghalaya only to receive the scholarship amount.

• Candidates must first reach the official website to apply.
• Then a homepage will open on your screen.
• On the dashboard, select the tab for “New Registration.”
• Your screen will go to a new page.
• On your screen, you’ll see the scholarship requirements.
• Click the “Continue” button after checking the boxes next to the undertakings.
• On your screen, the application form will appear.
• Enter the name, gender, DOB, scholarship category, scholarship scheme type, state of residence, mobile number, and email address.
