Karnataka DST-Ph.D Fellowship for Science and Engineering 2024 Eligibility Criteria 

• You must be an Indian Citizen to apply.
• The student must be a permanent resident of Karnataka and must have studied in Karnataka for at least six years.
• The age of students should be at least 35 years Female and specially-abled candidates and candidates belonging to scheduled caste sc and scheduled tribe sc will have an age relaxation of five years.
• have confirmed Ph.D. registration for full-time under Ph.D programme of any UGC/AICTE recognized University/Institution/College in Karnataka on or after 12th October 2020
• The student must successfully complete the Ph.D course.
• Must possess a Master’s degree or equivalent with a minimum of 60% marks.
• A minimum of 30% of the fellowships will be provided to female candidates, as the
  current scheme is identified under Gender Budget

The selected applicants would be paid INR 20,000 each month. Initially lasting one year, the fellowship may be extended for an additional two years based on performance. The fellowship will not last more than three years at the most.

Karnataka DST-Ph.D Fellowship for Science and Engineering 2024 Selection Process

1. Candidates who have passed the NET, SLET, GATE, or GPAT exams are given preference.
2. Clearing NET, GATE/GPAT and SLET will each receive a 20% weighting, whereas SLET will receive a 10% weighting.
3. A merit list will be created based on qualifying exam results (such as the M.Sc., M.Engg., or M.Tech.), giving NET/SLET/GATE/GPAT weightage.
4. The KSTePS/Selection Committee’s decision in regard to the selection, the award of Fellowships, etc., will be final and binding against the candidate.

Terms & Condition

• An official letter outlining the grant’s terms and conditions will be sent to the candidates who were selected along with notification to the relevant university or institution.
• After the end of each year, KSTePS has the discretion to renew the fellowship, subject to the success of the selected applicants.
• A crucial component of the Fellow’s duties will be the creation of an annual progress report on the research work completed.
  Fellowship will stand terminated from the date of resignation.
• A minimum of 30% of the fellowships will be provided to female candidates, as the current scheme is identified under Gender Budget.
• The results of the Candidate’s research work may be published in standard refereed journals at the discretion of the Guide.
