This Kanyashree prakalpa scheme was launched on 1st October 2013. The scheme has been launched entirely with girls in mind. So that girl students can continue their studies above 18 years. So marriage is not given before the age of 18 years. West Bengal Kanyashree Prakalpa will improve the lives of girls as they will get an education. Kanyashree scheme will provide financial assistance to girls aged 13 to 18 years and enrolled in classes 8 to 12. The entire amount of this Kanyashree scheme will be sent directly to the student’s bank account.

Kanyashree Prakalpa: Eligibility Criteria 

Students who want to apply for the Kanyashree scheme must go through the eligibility criteria which we have discussed below.

• The applicant must be a permanent resident of West Bengal.
• Student must be unmarried
• The student must be enrolled in Class 8 to 12 or it’s equivalent
• Applicant’s age must be between 13 to 18 years.
• The applicant’s family income should be below RS 1,20.000.
• Girls of Child Care Institutes registered under J.J. Act between the age of 18-19 years
• This scholarship is also open for various vocational, technical, and sports courses
